§ 5.36.010. Definitions

  • For the purposes of this chapter, the following definitions apply:

    A. The term "person" includes individuals, firms, companies, associations, organizations, partnerships and corporations.

    B. The term "private patrol operator" means any person who for any consideration whatsoever agrees to furnish, or furnishes, or agrees to serve as, or serves as, a watchman, guard, patrolperson or other person to protect persons or property, or to prevent the theft or unlawful taking of any goods, money or property of any kind, as that term is defined in the Private Security Services Act, California Business and Professions Code Section 7580 et seq.

    C. The term "street patrolperson" means any person who is an employee of a private patrol operator who performs the functions as described in Section 5.36.010(B) by street patrol service utilizing foot patrol, motor patrol, or other means of transportation in public areas, streets or public thoroughfares in order to serve multiple customers.
